Second suspect in shooting death of teen sentenced to 15 years in prison

PORTLAND, Ore. — The second of two suspects in the 2021 shooting death of 15-year-old Lowgunn Ivey was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Monday. Ty Sage, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and first-degree robbery as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Ivey’s family and friends were in the courtroom for the sentencing hearing, and Ivey’s mother spoke. Sage did not speak during the sentencing.

The shooting happened at the Columbia Trails apartment complex in Gresham on Dec. 4, 2021. Police officers responding to the scene found Ivey dead inside the open door of an apartment, and a 23-year-old man outside the apartment with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to court documents.
