Vancouver driver purposely struck 2 youths on dirt bikes, officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver in Vancouver was arrested for alleged vehicular assault after a confrontation with two juveniles on dirt bikes last week, authorities said.

Vancouver police said they responded to a report of a disturbance and injury crash at a parking lot of a business in east Vancouver.

“During the investigation, officers learned two juveniles riding the dirt bike had allegedly been recklessly driving through the parking lot, harassing people, damaging property, and preventing a vehicle from leaving the area,” the Vancouver Police Department said.

The adult driver then hit the dirt bike intentionally, causing both juveniles to be thrown from the bike, police said. The driver then ran over one of the youths, who “suffered serious injuries, including a compound leg fracture.”…
