Multnomah County doled out nearly $584 million to its workforce in the 2025 calendar year, an increase of 9% from the previous year.
That bump can be explained, in part, by another year of high overtime payments, most notably to jail staff in the Sheriff’s Office. Of the top ten highest-paid employees, half were employed by the law enforcement agency, data shared by the county shows. Five employees earned more than $300,000.
