PORTLAND, Ore. — After a long and often tense session Wednesday ended with the Portland City Council adopting an $8.5 billion budget, councilors have been debriefing about their wins and losses in terms of amendments passed and amendments failed.
On Thursday, KGW’s Blair Best spoke with several councilors about their thoughts — most of them members of the council’s progressive caucus, or Peacock, which roughly makes up a bloc of six votes on the 12-member council.
On the other side of the divide is Councilor Dan Ryan, one of the council’s more centrist or moderate members.
