Stabbing suspect caught in Mt. Scott-Arleta; victim won’t press charges

A reported stabbing drew a strong police response on Tuesday morning, March 31st, at the complicated intersection of S.E. 62nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard – but the incident ended without an arrest, after the victim declined medical attention, and then refused to press charges.

At 11:36 a.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers were dispatched to the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood, for a stabbing at that location. A total of nine officers responded.

Several officers were comparing witness statements in the parking lot of the Round Table Pizza at that six-way corner. Another patrol vehicle was positioned across the street in the 7-Eleven store parking lot. Additional officers were talking with witnesses and the victim…
