PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are investigating a reported assault that occurred in Northwest Portland near the riverfront on Friday, authorities said.
The assault was reported in the early evening in the 700 block of Northwest Naito Parkway, and the Portland Police Bureau told KOIN 6 an individual was left critically injured.

Authorities initially said no one was detained in connection to the assault, but “an active effort was underway to arrest the suspect.” A PPB spokesperson later revealed a suspect had been arrested as of Saturday morning.
The investigation is in an area just north of Tom McCall Waterfront Park, where the Portland Rose Festival CityFair is currently taking place. While it is unclear whether there is any connection to the event, Portland police said traffic is expected to be impacted as the investigation continues, as it is an “active case.”…
