Ammonia spill at Townsend Farms in Gresham causes evacuations

PORTLAND, Ore. — An ammonia spill at Townsend Farms in Fairview prompted evacuations Monday morning.

The leak was reported around 7:23 a.m. Northeast Sandy Boulevard is closed from Northeast 223rd Avenue to Northeast 238th Avenue to allow Gresham fire to manage incident.

Townsend Farm employees have been evacuated to a nearby business. Law enforcement is asking people to stay away from the area for the time being. Anyone near the farm is being asked to leave the area if they can do so, Gresham police said…
