(WJAR) — While rainy weather caused several Memorial Day parades, services and celebrations across Rhode Island to be canceled or rescheduled Monday, some went on regardless of the forecast.
“We’ve always been rain or shine,” said Scott Winslow, organizer of the Memorial Day Parade in the town of Lincoln. “We’re just going to embrace it, you know? We planned it, a lot of work went into it.”
Lincoln paradegoers, performers, and planners celebrated the holiday along the expected route.
“This is a tradition for me and I have to come every single year,” said Jayda Bishop. “I think it’s really nice to come celebrate our veterans.”…
