Mansfield man killed in Route 6 2-car crash ‘could light up any room,’ family says

MANSFIELD — Jaiden Pacheco’s family said the Mansfield man had “a gift for making people laugh and could light up any room” with his smile and heart before his life was cut short in a two-car crash on Route 6.

“His fun-loving spirit and genuine compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew him,” Pachecho’s family wrote in his obituary. “Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever.”

Pachecho, 20, and Geovani Aponte. Jr. of Willimantic were killed in a head-on car crash on June 26 in an area between state Route 198 and Chaplin Woods Drive. Both were passengers in a 2022 Hyundai Elantra that collided with a 2018 Dodge Journey at 11:53 p.m., state police said in a crash report…
