Monday starts wet across southern New England, with showers around for the morning commute and lingering into the afternoon, especially across Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts.
Rain could hang on into the early evening for the Cape and Islands. Overall rainfall totals have continued to trend lower, generally around 0.10–0.50 inches, with the higher end of the range possible on Nantucket and the Outer Cape.
Once the rain winds down, expect clouds and mugginess Monday evening with dew points near 70. Rougher surf conditions is also expected, with an increased rip current risk along south-facing beaches Monday and east-facing beaches Tuesday.
