PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Students will no longer be able to use personal devices in the classroom this school year.
That includes cellphones, laptops, iPads, tablets and smartwatches — anything that can connect to the internet.
For nearly a decade, Rhode Island has been reinventing its school buildings to embrace 21st-Century learning, but a new law in effect this year says students can only use a school-issued device during the day.
