Fox Point man beautifies neighborhood bus stop: ‘It came from his heart’

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — For 81-year-old Ken Santos, sprucing up his neighborhood bus stop quickly became a passion.

“It started off small and I couldn’t stop after that,” Santos said, adding that he began beautifying the bus stop in the spring. “It just snowballed from there.”

Santos, a retiree who lives in Providence’s Fox Point neighborhood, took it upon himself to clean up the bus stop at the corner of Wickenden and Ives streets.

His initial goal was to transform the bus stop into a comforting place for the seniors who live across the street at Fox Point Manor…
