Providence nightclub remains closed in aftermath of deadly stabbing

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence licensing officials signaled that a popular local nightclub may not reopen anytime soon following a deadly stabbing outside the business over the weekend.

Mezzo Lounge off Charles Street was ordered to shut down for 72 hours after two UMass Dartmouth students were stabbed stemming from a fight just past midnight on Saturday.

18-year-old Marvins Antoine later died from his injuries at the hospital.
