The Central Falls Police Department announces a significant development in the investigation of a homicide that occurred yesterday at Sue’s Salon, located at 360 Hunt Street. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Putali Kunwar, was found deceased as a result of an apparent act of violence. Detectives immediately initiated an extensive investigation that continued throughout the day and overnight hours.
Through diligent investigative efforts, including canvassing the surrounding area for surveillance footage, detectives were able to identify a suspect as well as a vehicle used to arrive at and flee the scene. Utilizing recently deployed Flock camera technology, investigators successfully identified a license plate associated with the vehicle.
Working in close coordination with the Cumberland Police Department, officers were able to track the vehicle and positively identify the operator. Detectives subsequently located the suspect, identified as 66-year-old Lawrence Beauvais, at a motel in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
