PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A man released from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody late last month is currently at large after a federal judge ruled that he should be re-detained.
A status report filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island indicates that ICE is working to track down Bryan Rafael Gomez after he failed to turn himself in.
Gomez is wanted in connection with a homicide in the Dominican Republic, according to an arrest warrant attached to the court filing. He had been taken into ICE custody following an arrest in Worcester, but was later released by U.S. District Court Judge Melissa DuBose who was unaware of the international warrant…
