$31.5 million renewal of Long Island roadways completed

Over 100 miles of Long Island roadways have completed construction after $31.5 million was invested by New York state officials for improving several key roads. The impacted roads include State Route 25, the Sunrise Highway, service roads in Suffolk County, the Hempstead Turnpike and Front Street in the Village of Hempstead.

“Long Island’s roads are essential to our economy and quality of life, connecting families to their communities, workers to their jobs and visitors to destinations,” Governor Kathy Hochul said. “These projects exemplify our commitment to making the infrastructure and public safety investments needed to keep New Yorkers moving and ensure our transportation system meets the needs of our communities.”…
