The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Friday night the agency is still investigating a Wednesday evening crash involving a Wake Forest Police Department vehicle.
The Wake Forest police vehicle, a marked 2021 Chevy Tahoe, was chasing a passenger vehicle on N.C. Highway 98 with its emergency lights and siren on, the State Highway Patrol said. The Wake Forest Police Department told ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner, on Wednesday the pursuit began on Highway 98 near South Main Street in Wake Forest after officers saw a vehicle driving recklessly with a fictitious tag.
