LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Both students representing Nevada in the 2026 Scripps Spelling Bee have been eliminated ahead of the final rounds.
The two eighth graders Priya Konduru from Reno, 14, and Sophia Garcia from Las Vegas, 14, were selected to represent the state in the competition. Both sponsored by The Public Education Foundation.
Konduru made it the farthest in the competition, reaching the sixth round before misspelling “gravamen.” Garcia reached the second round, which focused on vocabulary, but was sent home after incorrectly identifying the meaning of “ostensibly.”…
