The National Weather Service in Reno says flash flooding is possible because of thunderstorms. Excessive runoff could lead to flooding in creeks, streams, urban areas, burn scars and areas near steep terrain.
The Truckee River Flood Management Authority says sand and bags are available at several locations throughout the Truckee Meadows. Residents should bring their own shovels and be prepared to fill and transport the sandbags themselves.
