Downtown concert operation ends with 10 arrests and gun, drugs seized

A large law enforcement operation during a downtown Reno concert led to multiple arrests, drug and gun seizures, and new intelligence for future investigations, while the event itself remained free of significant gang-related violence.

According to the Regional Gang Unit, the coordinated gang suppression and crime reduction operation took place on July 9 during a concert in downtown Reno. Officers carried out proactive patrols, traffic enforcement, criminal intelligence gathering, and gang suppression efforts throughout downtown and the East Fourth Street corridor.

The operation resulted in more than 20 proactive traffic stops and citizen contacts, leading to 10 arrests and 12 citations.
