Some of the fastest-growing job markets in the United States are also home to major ports, freight hubs, factories, and industrial projects, according to LinkedIn’s 2026 Cities on the Rise ranking.
The annual list ranks 25 emerging metro areas based on hiring growth, job postings, and the movement of workers into and out of each area. LinkedIn limited the ranking to cities with fewer than 2.5 million members, bringing more attention to midsized and smaller job markets.
The ranking is not limited to supply chain positions. Healthcare, education, and technology are among the largest hiring industries in many of the featured cities. Still, 12 of the markets stand out for their ties to transportation, logistics, manufacturing, and infrastructure investment.
