Just in time for spring cleaning, Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR) announces its Spring Green Waste Collection Days for one weekend only, Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3.
TMFR officials say free green waste disposal is the best alternative for creating defensible space and reducing the risk of property damage, injury, and loss of life. Green waste collection allows residents to dispose of their dry and dead vegetation, shrubs, tree branches, and other wildland fuels to encourage the creation of defensible space to protect homes and property from wildfires.
