The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 42-year-old suspect following a targeted investigation into the sale and distribution of illicit narcotics within the region. According to officials, detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF) took Jess Zimmerli into custody on April 23, 2026.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that the arrest occurred during a traffic stop in Reno. The operation was a coordinated effort, with NNDTF detectives receiving assistance from HIDTA task force members from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and detectives from the Regional Narcotics Unit.
As part of the investigation, Sheriff’s Office detectives located and seized approximately 22.54 grams of fentanyl and 7.5 grams of methamphetamine. Zimmerli was subsequently transported to the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he was booked on multiple felony charges.
