South Reno residents urges speed limit review near Center Creek Park

A South Reno family is calling for slower speeds near Center Creek Park after their puppy was hit and killed by a driver they believe was traveling well above the posted limit.

Alison McKendrick, a South Reno resident, said her puppy, Maple, ran into the street and was struck and killed Tuesday. “Just devastated. She was brand new. She’d only just joined our family less than a year ago,” McKendrick said.

McKendrick said her family takes responsibility because Maple was not on a leash. “It was a mistake that we made. You know we’re pretty complacent,” she said…
