SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) -Spread the Word Nevada is turning the page on its month-long Community Book Drive.
On Friday, May 1, 2026, it is wrapping up the campaign with a Drive-Thru Donation Event. The nonprofit is inviting anyone in the community to come on down to America First Credit Union to drop off children’s books that will go toward the book drive. The new and gently-used donated books will go to children in Northern Nevada to provide support through access and literacy programming. America First Credit Union is located at 1440 E. Lincoln Way in Sparks at the Legends shopping center. The Drive-Thru event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The drive-thru event is also a chance for Spread the Word Nevada to greet generous community members and celebrate the people and businesses that have made the book drive a success. Greater Nevada Credit Union is one of the partnering businesses who will be on site for a drop-off. It is encouraging anyone who donate monetarily at the event and up until Friday, May 8, 2026. Anyone who donates throughout that time will be entered into a giveaway to win tickets to a suite at a Reno Aces game on Saturday, June 13 at 6:35 pm. Anyone who donates through that time will have a chance to win one of the prizes (4 tickets and a parking pass or 2 tickets and a parking pass).
