CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Heidi Cunningham, a 38-year-old Midlothian woman, was found strangled to death inside her Bristol Village apartment on Fern Meadow Loop on May 5, 2008. More than 18 years later, no arrests have been made and very little information has emerged about her killing.
Cunningham’s family had been unable to reach her. She was in the midst of a divorce at the time and had struggled with her sobriety, so concerned relatives obtained an emergency custody order.
Once on scene, police found Heidi dead inside her apartment.
She had last been seen alive on Friday, May 2, 2008, when police responded to her address for a check the welfare call initiated by her estranged husband…
