Layoff notices have been sent out in the Redlands Unified School District — impacting positions like librarians, special education staff and nurses — with school officials saying it’s a result of financial pressure.
The Redlands Unified school board approved 19 layoffs on Tuesday. The board said these decisions are never easy but that they’re needed as it continues to restructure and deal with enrollment trends and budget issues.
