Cooler air stays for a bit longer

Tonight and tomorrow

ROANOKE, Va. – Mostly cloudy skies look to remain in place for us through Friday. Could we see some breaks of sun later on Friday? Sure. But the clouds look to be pretty stubborn. A couple of showers will be around as well tonight into Friday. Not a huge coverage area by any means…as a matter of fact, more of us will stay dry than get wet. Patchy fog may form later tonight too.

Lows tonight will fall into the low-to-mid 60s with highs on Friday topping out in the mid-to-upper 70s. Temperatures will stay cool here for a couple more days.

Weekend forecast

We’ll start the weekend like we ended the work week with more clouds than sun in the forecast. Also like Friday, a few more showers will be possible on Saturday. Temperatures will stay below average, reaching the upper 70s.

Things to start to change for us on Sunday. We will see more sunshine with should do its job in warming us up a bit. We will climb into the middle 80s to close out the weekend. Even though we will see more sun spotty showers/storms will still form on Sunday, especially after lunchtime.

Looking ahead to next week

The heat is back on next week. Temperatures will range between 87-93 from Monday through Thursday, with the hottest day probably being Tuesday. Isolated showers or storms may greet us on Monday with a better chance for rain/storms on Tuesday. Behind that front we should be drier by midweek…
