Roanoke Fire-EMS contain commercial structure fire

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Firefighters with the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department responded to a commercial structure fire that showed heavy smoke coming from the building.

On April 13, at 6:46 a.m., crews from Roanoke Fire-EMS were alerted by the E-911 Center to reports of a commercial structure fire in the 3600 block of Aerial Way Drive SW.

Roanoke Fire-EMS says crews on Medic 4 arrived two minutes after the dispatch call came in. Firefighters saw heavy smoke showing from the building then upgraded to a working fire response.

Drivers advised to avoid Buena Vista Blvd due to fire

Crews on Medic 4 and Engine 4 quickly went to work locating the source of the smoke and extinguishing the flames, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS. At 6:51 a.m., additional units arrived and quickly searched the structure to make sure it was safely evacuated…
