New Castle trout hatchery sees drop in spring flow amid drought

NEW CASTLE, Va. (WDBJ) – Despite the rain this week, drought conditions are still causing major concerns in the Commonwealth. It’s hitting farmers particularly hard.

The owner of Smoke in Chimneys, Ty Walker, said spring water levels are running more like they would in mid-summer—forcing them to adjust now to avoid bigger impacts later this year.
