FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WROC) – Nearly a year after the Village of Fairport shared the retirement of former Chief of Police Matthew Barnes, community leaders have announced the appointment of a new chief to fill the role.
Chief Andrew Whitaker joins the Fairport Police Department with more than 20 years of law enforcement experience across multiple communities including the City of Geneva and most recently Irondequoit. He began his career as a deputy with the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
