ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly discarded a satchel with a gun and drugs in it while being chased by police.
On September 5, at around 1:45 p.m., police were monitoring a crowd on N. Clinton Ave. when officers received a tip that someone there had a gun. After dispersing the crowd, officers tried to speak with the suspect, who immediately ran away.
As he was running, he threw a satchel he was carrying into a backyard on Hoeltzer Street, police said. Inside the bag, officers found a loaded handgun and a quantity of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, as well as a digital scale.
