East House celebrates 60th anniversary with premiere of new PBS short film

Rochester, N.Y. — A nonprofit organization that supports people in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders is celebrating 60 years of life-changing work in the Rochester region.

East House on Monroe Avenue provides residential, rehabilitation, education and employment programs to empower people to live healthy and fulfilling lives in their community.

The organization rolled out the red carpet at the Little Theatre Tuesday night to mark its anniversary and premiere its short film that will be featured throughout 2026 on the PBS segment called “Empowered Hosted by Meg Ryan.”…
