ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Town of Greece is taking steps to address the rising water levels on Lake Ontario.
The town cited reports from the International Joint Commission, which say that there is a steeper-than-average rise through the month of April. The current reading hovers around 246.8 inches, a few inches below Plan 2014’s “F-Limit” trigger of 247.05′.
The town is working to stage trailer-mounted pumps near bypass valves installed in the sewer system, which allow town employees to block water from backing up into the street. They are also preparing to provide sandbags to residents in need…
