Escaped man in downtown Rochester back in custody

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Multiple law enforcement agencies were on scene in downtown Rochester as the search for a man named Eric Fountain has finished, as he is now back in custody, MCSO confirmed.

MCSO says the man escaped custody at 9:24 a.m. while being processed at the public safety building. A deputy gave chase, during which the deputy sustained minor injuries. Fountain was last seen by authorities running towards Court Street and the Genesee River.

The office says this began at around 3 a.m. this morning, when deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle. They stopped the car and took Fountain into custody. He was allegedly found to be in possession of a large amount of prescription and illicit drugs, resulting in additional felony charges against him…
