ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – Rockford’s housing market continued its strong performance in April, with new numbers indicating the market remains hot and in-demand. For the second time in two months, the city’s housing inventory reached an all-time record.
Data from the Northwest Illinois Alliance of Realtors shows 284 homes were available for sale in April. During the same month, 311 properties were sold, with an average sale price of just over $240,000. This average price represents a $21,000 increase compared to one year ago.
Conor Brown, CEO of the Northwest Illinois Alliance of Realtors, highlighted the local market’s resilience. “We see that momentum kind of carrying us through summer,” Brown said. ” Real Estate is hyper-local, just like the weather. We see things that are happening within our region may differ from some of the national stories that people may be reading about the real estate market. So, we’ve been pretty happy and proud of how healthy our real estate market has been over the last year or so. So, we see that progress continuing.”…
