Forest City Nurse Honor Guard recognizes retired nurses with ‘Living Tribute’

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Forest City Nurse Honor Guard filled a local assisted living facility Friday with red capes, nursing caps and applause to honor retired nurses during National Nurses Week.

The group visited Wesley Willows in Rockford to hold a “Living Tribute” ceremony. Residents, families and nurses from different generations came together to pay tribute to the careers and contributions of retired nurses living in the senior community.

Honorees were gifted a white rose and blanket with the colors of the nurse cape, as well as a pin and certificate making them an honorary Forest City Nurses Guard member.
