Civil War Day at Midway Village took visitors on stroll through time

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Thousands of eager students and members of the public took a walk through the past Saturday at Midway Village’s Civil War Day.

From fashion of the 1860s, to telegraph communication and sword drilling, there was plenty of historical education to go around, especially involving Rockford’s very own Camp Fuller.

More than 2,000 guests heard from famous figures of the past including Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas and 16th President Abraham Lincoln.
