ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The cause of a fire that destroyed a house Monday remains under investigation.
Around 2:45 a.m., May 11, crews were called out to 1812 Kishwaukee Street, finding heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the house.
Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the flames, and while the house appeared to be boarded up, neighbors told first responders there may be someone living on the second floor.
