Northern Californians should expect an abnormally muggy and hot week with the potential for thunderstorms as a post-tropical cyclone dissipates along the coastline and into the Pacific Ocean over the next few days.
As of Monday, July 20, the National Hurricane Center is warning that Elida, the post-tropical cyclone, is expected to generate dangerous ocean conditions as it moves from west of Baja California Sur, into Southern California before dissipating near the Bay Area region.
Although the hurricane center’s warnings are aimed at Southern California, the National Weather Service in Eureka noted that the tropical storm may bring “some thunderstorms and possibly heavy rain” as it dissipates in Northern California…
