The Elk Grove City Council unanimously approved new rules Wednesday governing e-bikes, e-scooters and other personal transportation devices, including restrictions on where and how they can be ridden.
Under the new ordinances, personal transportation devices were banned on sidewalks unless a sign specifically allows them. The city defines personal transportation devices as Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 electric bicycles, motorized scooters and electrically motorized boards.
