RIO LINDA, CA — A collision between a pickup truck and an ATV resulted in the death of a local rider on Saturday night at the intersection of 16th Street and Elverta Road.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports of the crash at approximately 8:19 p.m. Investigators determined that a pickup truck struck the rear of the quad, causing the rider to be thrown from the vehicle. The rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup remained at the site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
