Confirmed measles case sparks warnings in St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS — A confirmed measles case in the St. Louis area has health officials warning residents about potential exposures, urging people to check for symptoms.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is advising people who might have been exposed to monitor themselves for three weeks (21 days) after the day of possible exposure.

Potential exposure locations and times are:

  • Sept. 12, 3:30-7:50 p.m.: The Cat’s Meow-Soulard, 2600 S. 11th St., St. Louis
  • Sept. 12, 6-11:30 p.m.: Busch Stadium, Section 141, 700 Clark Ave., St. Louis
  • Sept. 12, 9:30 p.m. until closing: Paddy O’s, 618 S. Seventh St., St. Louis
  • Sept. 13, starting at 11:30 a.m.: Little Ireland, 125 N. First St., Pacific
  • Sept. 13, starting at 6:30 p.m.: B & H Market, 2244 W. Osage St., Pacific
  • Sept. 13, 8 p.m. until closing: Pacific Brew Haus, 220 S. First St., Pacific
  • Sept. 14, 3-5:15 p.m.: Goodcents, 173 Long Road, Chesterfield
  • Sept. 14, 5:30-7:45 p.m.: Bud’s Market, 312 E. Osage St., Pacific

Health officials said the time frames include the extra two hours to account for the possibility of the virus remaining infectious through the air or on a surface after an infected person has left that area…
