ST. LOUIS — Restoration work is underway on the historic fountain at Fountain Park, marking another step in efforts to revive the north St. Louis landmark after a EF3 tornado last May caused widespread damage across the park.
The multi-tiered fountain rises from the center of the park in north St. Louis, its aged stone and wide bowls showing more than a century of history.
While the storm heavily impacted surrounding areas, the fountain itself was not damaged. Still, crews say restoring the historic structure is a key part of bringing the park back to life…
