‘High dollar value meat theft’: Man facing felony charge, accused of stealing over $10,000 worth of meat, candy from Sam’s Club

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A St. Louis City man is facing a felony theft charge after being accused of stealing over $10,000 worth of meat and candy from a Sam’s Club in Crestwood.

St. Louis County prosecutors on Friday charged Damonte’ J. Walton with organized retail theft of over $10,000, a class B felony. He is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a $200,000 cash-only, no 10% bond.

According to a Crestwood Police Department affidavit, police were called to the Sam’s Club at 10248 Big Bend Road on three separate occasions to investigate thefts. Investigators say all three “involved high dollar value meat thefts.” Court records indicate at least one of these thefts happened on Jan. 19, 2026…
