As if the oppressive heat wasn’t bad enough, an Apple Valley neighborhood just witnessed what police describe as “probably the least pleasant cookout in town.”
That unfolded Tuesday morning when a garbage truck driver had to dump the entire trash load on a residential street after detecting a fire.
The incident happened near the intersection of Diamond Path and 148th Street West.
“Yes, it’s supposed to happen that way. No, we aren’t starting a new curbside collection program,” the Apple Valley Police Department wrote on Facebook, telling residents the driver followed standard safety procedures to prevent the garbage fire from spreading to the truck…
