The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or so it would seem at Alary’s Bar in downtown St. Paul.
The bar, which opened in the 1940s and got a new owner in the summer of 2024, is changing its name. Beginning May 11, it’ll be Alary’s Kitchen + Bar, complete with a full-service menu to make good on the addition of “Kitchen” to its name.
“We’ve been working toward this for a while,” owner Bill Collins tells Bring Me The News. “We wanted to shift the perception of Alary’s as a bar, with a few food items, to that of a great neighborhood gathering spot for lunch, dinner, and happy hour, as well as games and events.”
