Downpours and storms tracking northward across the Tampa Bay area continue Sunday, on and off throughout the day.
As the Max Defender 8 Weather team continues to monitor the potential for tropical development in the Gulf, the area of low pressure to our west will continue to support scattered-to-widespread showers and storms for the end of the weekend and start of the workweek.
Sunday’s storms bring a low-end risk of flooding along the immediate coastline due to the chance that these areas see several rounds of heavy rain through the day. This low-end flood risk carries over into Monday as well due to ongoing elevated rain chances.
The Storm Prediction Center has also issued a low-end, level 1/5 risk for severe weather for portions of the Tampa area due to the potential for damaging wind gusts in some stronger storms…
