Florida Gaming Raids Clear 163 Illegal Slot Machines And Nearly $250,000 In St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — State and local law enforcement officers seized 163 illegal slot machines and almost $250,000 in cash during raids on two St. Petersburg businesses on Sept. 10.

The joint effort, dubbed “Operation Final Spin,” targeted the Action Arcade at 6541 54th Avenue North and The Zoo Sports Club and Grille at 5111 66th Street North. The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) led the operation alongside the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Highway Patrol, and the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco.

Inside the Action Arcade, investigators confiscated 90 slot machines and $142,020. Officers issued notices to appear to two people at that location, charging each with one count of keeping a gambling house and one count of slot machine possession.

A few miles away at The Zoo, officers seized 73 machines and $105,265 in cash. One person received a notice to appear on charges of slot machine possession and acting as an agent or employee of a gambling house…
