Two Major Insurers Have Now Dropped Moffitt in Seven Months — and Cancer Patients Are the Ones Absorbing the Impact
For cancer patients in Tampa Bay who rely on Moffitt Cancer Center for their care and who hold a Humana Medicare Advantage plan, a deadline is approaching on July 1, 2026 that will change what their insurance covers — and what it doesn’t — when they walk through Moffitt’s doors.
Effective July 1, 2026, Moffitt Cancer Center will become out of network for Humana Medicare Advantage PPO and HMO plans. All Moffitt locations and Moffitt Medical Group are affected. The change comes seven months after Aetna made the same decision — individual Aetna Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans stopped covering Moffitt as an in-network provider on December 1, 2025.
